Description: In Trafalgar Square a big placard has been placed across the plinth of Nelson's Column, reading "England Expects This Day That Every Man Will Do His Duty". People crowd the square. Around the plinth are wreaths, one from the "gallant sailors of France", others commemorating British ships sunk since the start of the war: HMS Speedy, HMS Pathfinder and HMS Aboukir have wreaths shown. British sailors contemplate the display.
